All donated clothes are checked, sorted and stored by age/size by a team of awesome volunteers.
The baby clothes are on the back wall opposite the door, starting with the youngest in the far right back corner and getting older across the wall, stretching to adults as you get back towards left. Men's are behind the door.
Coats, shoes, dressing up are usually separated out - have a rummage!
Please take all that you need and leave unwanted clothes packed back in the correct size bag, zipped up and back on the shelf. Please do not leave things out on the floor.
Thank you for keeping precious resources moving through our community - the longer we keep things in use the better. Every kilo of clothing = roughly 25kgs of carbon saved and supports others too.
To maintain the quality of the wardrobe, below there's some guidance on what we are (and aren't) looking for.
Please wash all clothes before donation, then sort into sizes and label. If donations arrive in this way, then the Wardrobe volunteers will send you big brownie points.New donations go on the shelves on your immediate right by the door. If the shelves are full please do not leave your donations on the floor or outside
Items we accept:Good quality, freshly washed clothes for all sizes and genders (quality you would be happy to pass on to a friend), accessories like hats and bags, shoes (in pairs), school uniform, coats, new underwear, kids swimwear and wetsuits, dressing up outfits.
Items we don't accept: damaged clothing (no marks, stains, holes, pilling, broken zips, missing buttons), clothing with stains, SHEIN or TEMU brands, towels & bedlinen, baby equipment, duverts or pillows, toys, books, furniture, mattresses, worn underwear, adult swimwear, electricals.
Please weigh what you have donated and/or taken (there are luggage scales available); and pop the weight in the notebook available with any comments, compliments or suggestions for improvement.
Please note comments in the book are publicly visible to other visitors and could be shared with funders, on social media, etc. (Make up a name if you'd prefer or just be anonymous!).
We'd love a photo of you and your new treasure (or just the new fave outfit you found if you're camera shy like me) shared with us via our socials - Facebook & Insta @dolilthings - it really helps others to see reuse as the norm too 🙂
Double check everything has been put away and that bags are zipped shut - they keep the clothes in great condition this way. Have you got your own belongings?
Please Please Please leave the wardrobe as you would wish to find it (ie, clean and tidy, please take your rubbish home!)
